In terms of diversified partnerships, TCC’s Heping Plant has also taken a unique approach with the TCC DAKA - Open Eco-Factory, welcoming local residents and the general public to the site to learn more about TCC. TCC offers a DAKA market where residents of Heping Village can set up booths to sell indigenous snacks and food and Truku handicrafts. When the Suhua Highway Improvement Project bypassed the local tribal villages, the livelihoods of the communities were affected. Therefore TCC has reserved booths for the local residents.”The rent income from the booths is fully donated to the“Hualien County Private Heping Sustainable Charity Foundation”as a local emergency relief fund. The company also established an industry-academic cooperation program with Hualien’s Siwei Senior High School to foster skills in local students and provide them with job opportunities at TCC.
