 She then took on another research project from Paelabang Danapan on the Truku culture and spent a year following hunters into the mountains, witnessing real hunting practices and taking valuable records of the culture. She also worked at the National Science and Technology Council, the Center for Aboriginal Studies, and served as the director of the Formosa Indigenous Dance Foundation of Culture and Arts. By chance, she came across the concept of a seed bank and realized that,“The indigenous people had actually been engaging the act of ‘seed conservation’for a long time; they hang and dry bunches of sorghum, millet, and corn under their thatched huts, and take them down to plant when season is right. The farmers dry and save their seeds according to season.” Later, she also worked as a farmer full- time,“Because there are different wild vegetables all year round, I often call my father and mother to ask them to tell me all the stories about wild vegetables.” Hualien Issue   56
