CEO Lin Dong-Liang brought up some potential concerns that have surfaced in recent years.“More and more yachts in Taiwan are being used for leisure and entertainment, but there are no restrictions on whale watching.”The Kuroshio foundation believes that whale watching tours must be led by professional captains who have the ability to judge the behavior of cetaceans and respond to different cetacean species in different habits. For example, a whale watching boat may need to keep different distances for different cetacean species so that the animals don't suffer injuries from diving quickly to avoid the vessel.“We hope the government will introduce legislation regulating whale watching in the near future. This will be of great help to the ecological environment of cetaceans.” Since its founding, Kuroshio has organized many lectures on marine issues, inviting conservationists and ecological educators from outlying islands to talk about the history and marine culture of the islands. The foundation has also invited cetacean photographers to hold exhibitions and share their photography process. These events allow those who have forgotten marine culture to reconnect with the water, dance with the sea, feel the call of the azure blue, and immerse themselves in the gentle and endless vitality of the ocean. 39
